103 — Covenant Law Via The Words Of Christ, Part 1
The Typology of Christ’s Words
What you will read in this portion of The Covenant Law Curriculum is nothing short of the next step in your theological understanding of YoHeWaH’s Word. It will reveal a much deeper understanding of Yeshua, who was the Word made flesh that dwelt among us, John 1:14…. And it will cause many of the unconnected pieces of the big-picture puzzle to come together. Scripture will begin to jump off the page at you like never before. You don’t believe me?… Stick around and you’ll see.
Typology is defined as the study and interpretation of types and symbols, particularly in their origin, as seen in the Bible. The key wording from that definition would be “from their origin”, as in the origin of truth.
Pilate asked Christ, “What is truth?”
Knowing Christ’s words, it is shocking that His answer didn’t include something to the effect that one must have eyes to see and ears to hear to know the truth. But instead, He said nothing, probably knowing such an explanation would be fruitless.
Eyes to see. Ears to hear. What does that mean?
Well, simply put, there is a code language throughout YoHeWaH’s Word that lends an understanding of knowledge, a layer down below the story being told on the surface of scripture.
There is a historically accurate telling of events in the lives of men and women of YoHeWaH between the re-creation of Genesis 1:2 and the first century Assemblies of Yeshua. That would be the surface story being told. It is here that most Believers are very content to reside, remaining comfortable in their theology and teaching. However, this layer of scripture is most certainly open to not only interpretation but also enough deception via the lying pen of the scribes to lead Believers into a world of hurt, theologically.
“How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of YoHeWaH is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie. The wise men shall be put to shame; they shall be dismayed and taken; behold, they have rejected the word of YoHeWaH, so what wisdom is in them?” Jeremiah 8:8–9
So, how can we know what the truth is if the translators have set traps within YoHeWaH’s word long before we were even born? The answer to that question is revealed through the tried-and-true tools of Bible Study that I will outline in this portion of the curriculum.
It is worth noting that the Bible is a book that can be read for its surface-level instruction and inspiration. Such a top-layer reading will lend progress toward the goal, but I assure you, it will not bring you to the place YoHeWaH desires for you to obtain and/or dwell. The Bible is a work of study, much like a puzzle, as described already. If left unexplored, deception most certainly will be at work.
The first tried and true tool of study is placing the right understanding of the meaning of keywords into any given passage in question. It’s no mystery identifying the keywords of any given text. The mystery is how to get to the original meaning of those words, and it’s a little more than just reading the definition from Strong’s Concordance or any layman’s dictionary. Even Jimmy Strong was a victim of the scribes’ deceitful pen, on the surface.
Here is a great example of a text where the keyword can easily be identified, and how the translators have misled believers, leading them into great deceptions concerning one of the most important subjects in all Christendom.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish either but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:17–18
So, what would you say is the key word in this text?
The word “fulfill” lends to us the game plan of not only Yeshua in the flesh, but The Sovereign YoHeWaH that sent Yeshua, in the first place… But what does it mean?
Christendom would lead you to believe that the word ‘fulfill’ in this text does exactly what Christ says it doesn't mean, which is to abolish. I mean, not in so many words, but with a little spiritual gymnastics, the case is made that Christ fulfilled or completed the law, thus putting an end to the law for Believers.
So, let’s take a close look at this word and how it is used, putting into practice these tried-and-true methods to dispel the deceptions that The Enemy has laid for Believers to fall into.
The Greek word in question is G4137, pléroó. The word is used 36 various ways in the New Testament alone. These ways are in various tenses, grammars, and combinations with other words accordingly. The way pléroó is used in Matthew 5:17 lends itself to three other examples in Scripture, using the exact same tense and part of speech as in Matthew 5:17, allowing us to compare them directly to gain a better understanding of the word. Let’s examine these other three passages.
“Then Yeshua came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” But Yeshua answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us TO FULFILL all righteousness.” Matthew 3:13–15
And
“May the Mighty One of hope FILL YOU with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
And
“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from The Almighty that was given to me for you, to make the word of YoHeWaH FULLY known,” Colossians 1:24–25
Questions to consider…
When Yeshua was baptized, did that put an end to all other baptisms for Believers?
What about when Paul pronounced the blessing of being filled with joy and peace by the power of YoHeWaH’s Spirit, did that somehow abolish the pursuit of joy and peace for all other Believers?
… And finally, when Paul states that he was given the commission to make the word of YoHeWaH fully known, did that somehow eradicate the need for Believers everywhere to study to show themselves approved?
In each case, does the word plērōsai abolish anything?
The fact is, the use of this word in each example does the exact opposite of nullify or eliminate. It actually magnifies the subject matter of the text. It is an example for future Believers to set their spiritual goal by. Paul stated:
“Imitate me even as I imitate Christ” 1Corinthians 11:1
Christ became baptized, and YoHeWaH Himself laid hands on the Human Being in the form of what looked like a dove ascending from heaven. Paul ministered to Believers everywhere with the hope of the coming Kingdom of YoHeWaH to this earth, as he admonished Believers to be filled up with the knowledge it takes to be in a Covenant relationship with YoHeWaH.
Thus, Christ’s statement, “I have not come to abolish either, but to fulfill them (The Law and the Prophets)” can in no way be understood as the end of YoHeWaH’s law, but rather a poignant magnification of His law accordingly.
Teachable Moment: So, why the confusion? Why can’t it be so easy to understand that a third grader could not only get it but could also stand up and teach it to all his or her peers? The question is a fair one and leads us into the depths of all mysteries within scripture. The word esoteric has always been an enemy to Christianity. Within modernity, esotericism evokes images of subjects within the “New Age” mystery religions from the Far East. The truth be known, the word esoteric simply means hidden or difficult to understand. The Teachable Moment is this… YoHeWaH’s word is esoteric to no end. It is hard to understand. It is a constant digging in search of truth. It is not for everyone.
“Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” Matthew 13:10–13
Chapter 13 of Matthew opens with Yeshua going to the seashore to relax but suddenly is surrounded by the masses who followed him. Followers of Yeshua are the ones that Yeshua makes the statement about, “but to them it has not been given” and “because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear”. Fact is, all of scripture is written this way. Our Savior continues in Matthew 13, quoting from the Prophet Isaiah…
“Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:
“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart
and turn, and I would heal them.’” Matthew 13:14–15
I have often stated, “The Enemy teaches deception in counterfeits, but YoHeWaH instructs in typologies”.
You can add subcategories to typologies, such as parables, analogies, symbolism, allegories, shadows, and patterns. All of which are used in scripture to veil the truth, literally hiding it for those unworthy to accept it, while lending it bountifully to those who seek it like buried treasure, by their eyes to see and ears to hear.
Counterfeits are opposed to the truth of typology, but make no mistake, both are esoteric in nature. Think about it. What is happening between the spirit world and that of the physical? A transfer of knowledge is taking place. Knowledge is gold… Wisdom is silver… And Understanding is brass. Deception and confusion are iron. It is against the backdrop of the iron kingdom of Rome that Yeshua is found manifest in the flesh, setting the record straight concerning all these misconceptions in Scripture… And yet, all Yeshua does is speak in parables and constant riddles.
The Spirit world is in league with one another. I’ve often stated, “The Father and HaSatan must be in agreement concerning the legal ground of the physical world”.
Allow another example of typology…. Wine.
Wine used in moderation can be a useful tool for enjoyment, if you’re drinking good wine, that is. There are good wines and bad wines, as well as new and aged wines. When Yeshua turned the water into wine, what was produced was a very rich, good wine, the winebibbers noticed immediately.
“When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew, the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” John 2:9–10
The Greek word used in this text, as well as in all New Testament verses where the word “wine” is translated, is Οἶνος (G-3631). Its one-word definition is simply “wine”.
Now, take a look at the following passage using the exact same word, Oinois.
“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the WINE of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” Revelation 17:1–2
Please know, despite what almost all of Christianity teaches, the entire book of Revelation is 100% symbolic. There will be no literal, single great whore riding a beast all over the world, deceiving Believers into some sort of drunken orgy celebration, keeping them from entering into life. I mean, if you believe that, stop right now and go do something else. I simply can not help you.
The symbology of the above-quoted text speaks to the false doctrine of the Great Whore (translated Prostitute), which is the Catholic Church, established by the real Mother-Whore, Judaism. How do we know wine is a typology pointing to doctrine or teaching? By doing exactly what Isaiah tells us to do…. And this, the second lesson of the tried-and-true tools of bible study, falls dead-center in our lesson concerning the typology of wine. Pay careful attention to what you are about to read.
“In that day YoHeWaH of hosts will be a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of his people, and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
These (Christians) also reel with WINE (false doctrine) and stagger with strong drink (false theology); the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are swallowed by wine, they stagger with strong drink, they reel in vision, they stumble in giving judgment. All the tables are full of filthy vomit, with no space left.
“TO WHOM WILL HE TEACH KNOWLEDGE, and to whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast? For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, HERE A LITTLE, THERE A LITTLE.”
For by people of strange lips (Covenant Keepers) and with a foreign tongue (understanding the depths of scripture) YoHeWaH will speak to this people, to whom he has said, “THIS IS REST; give rest to the weary; and this is repose”; YET THEY (Christians) WOULD NOT HEAR. And the word of YoHeWaH will be to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little, that they (Christians) may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.” Isaiah 28:9–13
I have taken the liberty to insert a little commentary into the above text to show how false doctrine (bad wine) and deceptive theology (strong drink), can leave Believers in error in the last days. The time setting is given in the very opening of the quoted verse, “In that day YoHeWaH of hosts will be a crown of glory”
But did you catch the tried-and-true tool of bible study? “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, HERE A LITTLE, THERE A LITTLE.”
The context of the passage continues further, making my point of how end-time Believers fall back (backsliding) and are snared and taken, broken by a lack of understanding. Notice the key commentary within the text as Isaiah continues in chapter 28.
“Therefore hear the word of YoHeWaH, you scoffers (of Covenant Law), who rule this people in Jerusalem! Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death (the heaven and hell doctrine), and with Sheol, we have an agreement, when the overwhelming whip passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood, we have taken shelter”; therefore thus says the Sovereign YoHeWaH, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’ And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plumb line, and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the shelter.” THEN YOUR COVENANT WITH DEATH will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, you will be beaten down by it. As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer TERROR TO UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE (of Covenant law).” Isaiah 28:14–19
The terror spoken of at the close of the above text is the JUDGMENT given to Israel (America) via the words of the blessings and curses chapters of scripture, which are both contents within The Book of The Covenant… Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28.
So, going back to the text quoted from Revelation 17:1 2, we can see that the saints have become drunk on the wine (false doctrine) of her teaching. The Protestant Churches of Christendom have carried with them many of the false doctrines taught in the Roman Catholic theology. Wrapped in a good understanding of typology in scripture is YoHeWaH’s judgment upon the Christian churches for this watered-down, pagan theology, which the church fails to look inwardly at, even until the very last days, when judgment hits Christianity right between the eyes.
Note the following condemnation from YoHeWaH concerning Believers failing to distinguish between the clean and the unclean…. This is a major problem in our nation today and within the church itself.
“And the word of YoHeWaH came to me: “Son of man, say to her (The Church), You are a land (government) that is not cleansed or rained upon in the day of indignation. The conspiracy of her prophets (Christian Preachers and Teachers) in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things (tithes and offerings); they have made many widows in her midst. Her priests have done VIOLENCE TO MY COVENANT LAW and have profaned my holy things. They have made NO DISTINCTION between the SET APART and the COMMON, neither have they taught the difference BETWEEN THE CLEAN AND THE UNCLEAN, and they have disregarded my Sabbaths so that I am profaned among them. Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, and destroying lives to get dishonest gain (a greater reward in heaven by the number of souls saved). And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says The Sovereign YoHeWaH,’ when YoHeWaH has not spoken. The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery (because the pulpit has taught the abolishment of Covenant Law). They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice (and no Christian stood in the gap to stop it). And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, BUT I FOUND NONE. Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them (the coming judgment upon our so-called Christian nation). I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares The Sovereign YoHeWaH.” Ezekiel 22:23–31
Clearly, YoHeWaH is speaking, but who or what is He speaking to? And what’s more, who is it that is not listening?
say to her (The Church)
Time for another example of typology. More of the code language we can glean by simply doing what YoHeWaH taught us through Isaiah’s instruction to apply “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, HERE A LITTLE, THERE A LITTLE.”
A woman is a typology of a church or assembly. Simply think of the Bride of Christ, which most all Believers should recognize as the church, without spot or wrinkle or any such blemish…. Which should cause all Believers to pause. For we are most certainly not without spot or wrinkles and blemish… And why? Because we, as a Christian Nation, have abolished the very testimony of Christ and His shed blood via our lack of knowledge of Covenant Law. Thus, fulfilling Hosea’s end-time statement:
“My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the (covenant) law of your Mighty One, I also will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6
This code language of typology is all throughout scripture if you have eyes to see and ears to hear. Below are just a few examples of the typological code in scripture.
Land = Government
Mountains = World Governments (Federal Government in America)
Hills = State and Local Governments
Zion = Common Law of the land, Covenant Law.
Sea = The Government of Babylon, Regulatory, Admiralty Law
Rivers = The banking system of money flow
Kingdom = Government of King, Land, People, and Laws
Jerusalem in the prophets of the bible = The United States
Israel = America
Ephraim = The United States of America
Joseph = Great Britain and America
Tyre = Capitalism
Egypt = Christianity and the Christian Right
Moab = Catholicism
Ammon = Democrats of the left
At that time = An end-time setting
As you can see, the examples I have given refer to political and end-time entities that we would all recognize today. The fact is, America and some of the entities within the American political landscape are the main point of the story being told in the Major and Minor Prophets of the Bible.
It is also worth noting that Christ Himself defines the Gospel as the Good News of the coming Kingdom of YoHeWaH… A Statement loaded with more esoteric meaning. A Kingdom is defined as having the following four major components.
1 — A King
2 — A Land
3 — A People
4 — A Set of Laws
Just in case you’re not paying attention, the above list denotes a government. When Christ said, My Kingdom (government) is not of this world, He very clearly meant, His coming Kingdom is not of the world at that time, two thousand years ago, nor any of the six thousand years to which man was allotted time to prove he can govern himself apart from YoHeWaH. There is, however, a time coming when that covenanted time will end, and Yeshua will most certainly have His Kingdom here on earth. Not in heaven as Christianity falsely teaches.
“And you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign ON THE EARTH.” Revelation 5:10
There are many other typologies of scripture that can become clear once you have the basics down concerning how to identify them accordingly. Certainly, identifying the players, much like watching any given sporting event, is key to fully understanding what is actually happening.
As we go through the words of Christ, in the flesh, as recorded by the four Apostle witnesses, I will be pointing out all the ways that we see typology manifested within His teachings. It is imperative that you develop these eyes to see and ears to hear before you can fully understand the depths of Christ’s ministry to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.
Up next, “The Sermon On The Mount”.
