You may not think much of the meanings of words, especially when it comes to reading the Bible or even in the history of events that shape our world today, but you should. If you are a truth seeker, it is a must.
Read any section of scripture. Then pull out key words, such as names, cities, main nouns and verbs, looking up their meaning, then apply their meaning to the section of scripture you are examining. And always remember, you have to apply the root meaning of the word in every case to get past the surface mistranslations left to us by King Jimmie’s Catholic trained Monks. Sometimes, that might be two or three layers down of root meanings, applied to your understanding of that single word.
Then, you will have a good understanding of what the text is saying, unaltered by poor translations we have all come to hate.
Names are especially interesting. There is so much information given to us via names of persons, places and things in any given text.
In the case of the name British, a compound word broken down into the Hebrew words BRT and ISH, we can see evidence of the history of the British people that leads back to Abraham.
