Letter To David Barton At Wall Builders
Subject: The Restoration Of Covenant In America
I’ll begin with an opening statement to all of those, like David Barton or Glenn Beck, and others who, like myself, desire to restore The Covenant within our nation today…
You guys are not going back far enough. Then again, it might be said, you’re not going forward enough… Or both.
Please allow me to explain.
The non-Christian American Patriot mindset would say, we need to restore the covenant thought process of the Pilgrims, going back 400-plus years.
The Christian Patriot mindset would say, we need to look to the Pilgrim’s thought process as well as the Covenant of Christ, for those are one and the same, going back two thousand years in time.
My message to David and Glenn is this:
Both the mindset of the Pilgrims and that of the ministry of Christ are based upon the knowledge of the laws written in “The Book of The Covenant” authored by Moses and Joshua.
Believers in Christ today, know the words of The Gospels quite well. However, very few, as in less than one percent know anything whatsoever concerning the most important book in the Bible today, “The Book Of the Covenant”. This is a great mystery ready to be revealed. The Almighty stated, within this “Book of The Covenant” through Moses’ words, closing the second of four entries into this applicable road map of tru Christianity.
“The secret things (mysteries) belong to The Eternal our Creator, but the things that are revealed (mysteries restored) belong to us and to our children forever, that we MAY DO all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Somewhere on this earth, there is a literal book or scroll containing the four entries written by the hands of Moses and Joshua, called “The Book of The Covenant”, also referred to in scripture as “The Book of The Law”. The words within this great book that matches the testimony of Christ, are found in the pages of your Bible. They are buried like treasure, awaiting the Christian act of excavation. This guide to individual and governmental success can be examined in the following 36 chapters of our instruction book.
Exodus 20 through 23
Leviticus 25 through 26
Deuteronomy 4 through 31
Joshua 23 through 24
Right off the bat, it must be noted, the thought process of most Believers in Christ is that all old testament law is one law and that single law is abolished at the cross of Christ. These same Believers would make the case, Christ’s sacrifice did away with the need for the old sacrificial/ceremonial law… and on that last point, they would be correct.
However, it is here that I need to reveal the first clue, there is a great unacknowledged mystery ready to be revealed.
There are TWO sets of codified laws within the old testament that must be rightly divided between… differentiated and separated. These two laws are:
1 — The original, eternal Covenant Law, which is defined as the Law of Liberty, making known THE DETAIL of the proper way to worship Our Creator, as well as, how to live righteously and justly with our fellow man.
2 — The added, temporary, ceremonial, sacrificial Levitical Priesthood Law, which scripture makes clear is a PUNISHMENT for the act of idolatry at the golden calf event of Exodus 32.
One of these two sets of laws is perpetual, as long as man exists. The other was instituted until Christ would come, abolished for the Believer, revealing an avenue for the rights and liberties ordained by Our Creator, that we may dwell in happiness and in righteousness under the one true King.
That avenue is words of liberty within The Book of The Covenant. It is the detail of this law of free moral agency that Christendom needs to address and weigh its theology against.
As Christian Patriots who desire our nation to return to the mindset of our Founders, who obviously looked to this law of sovereignty, we must go back further than even the knowledge revealed in the words of Christ and the Apostles in the New Testament.
How far back? Back to the words of Christ, The Lawgiver at Mount Sinai as He spoke the words of Covenant Law to Moses and the people of Israel beginning in Exodus 20. It is within these words, the 36 chapters of “The Book Of The Covenant”, that we will find THE DETAIL of the very testimony of Christ, to which we are to live, individually and collectively.
It must be noted, Christ’s life in the flesh and His testimony are documented within Covenant Law. In other words, Covenant Law and Christ Himself (The Word that became flesh) are one and the same.
It also must be noted, by in large, the Founders of this nation were babes in the knowledge of such things, but they were far advanced above where we are today in the areas of righteousness… And I’m speaking of mainstream Christianity.
The written WORD in English was brand new new to the layperson, 400 years ago. Thus putting all the pieces together as we can do today was simply not doable. Knowledge had not advanced enough at that time to allow Christendom to be able to clearly apply the words of Christ to Covenant Law and see they are a spot on match. Christianity at that time was unequivocally not a completed work.
The Enemy took full advantage of the term liberty to creep into the church to deceive and stunt the growth of the Christian theology toward a more correct understanding of true righteousness. By the time our nation was established, the 19th century would sow the seeds of falsehood and destruction within the ever growing schisms of various denominations in our land, which we were all born into. Anyone who believes Christianity today holds any likeness to Apostolic Christianity simply isn’t paying attention.
So, when we say, “We want to return to the mindset of Our Founders”, I really don’t think we are thinking it through, or as I stated in the opening, we are not desiring to go back far enough. This is to take nothing from the work God accomplished through the great men and women known as The Pilgrims or The Founders… An event prophesied directly from scripture. Notice the following text with commentary for clarity, unbolded in parenthesis.
“I will take you, one from a city (from European Countries) and two from a family (from the families of Israel), and I will bring you to Zion (The Promised Land of America, as proven from Deuteronomy 8:9). And I will give you shepherds (George Whitefield, John Calvin, Jonathon Edwards, etc) after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. And when you have multiplied and been fruitful in the land (as we are today), in those days, declares The Eternal, they shall no more say, “The ark of the covenant of The Eternal.” (Levitical Priesthood Law, which is a typology of Admiralty code Law of Regulations and bondage). It shall not come to mind or be remembered or missed; it shall not be made again. At that time JerUSAlem shall be called the throne of The Eternal, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of The Eternal in JerUSAlem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart. In those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel (SOUTH AND NORTH, as in one stick, see Ezekiel 37:15–28), and together they shall come from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers for a heritage (America, as described in Deuteronomy chapter 8). Jeremiah 3:14–18
In the opening statement, I also referred to our failing to think forward in time enough, as in what it will be like in the coming Kingdom of God here on this earth, as Revelation 5:10 states:
“and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign ON THE EARTH.”
When we look into the Major and Minor Prophets of the Bible we can ascertain the reason for judgment that comes upon our nation. The uncivic-minded Christian never thinks along these lines because that person believes the only future for Believers is in heaven. However, the above text from Revelation shows, that simply is not the case. Fact is, the goal of the plan of salvation is to restore The Government of The Almighty here on this earth. Thus the reason for a person’s salvation is to learn and prepare to govern righteously in that coming government. In other words, the very thing the non-civic-minded person rejects is the very goal of the gospel of Christ… The good news of the coming Kingdom (Government) of God, here on this earth.
Thus, looking forward to one of the most dynamic prophecies of the end time that we have in scripture, we can gleen great insight to the role Covenant Law must play in any restoration of Covenant in our nation today. Consider carefully these words…
“For behold, the day is coming (the very day we live in right now), burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says The Eternal of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear my name, the sun (Light) of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall (a clear picture of the Millennium). And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act (in judgment), says The Eternal of hosts.
“Remember the (Covenant) law of my servant Moses, the statutes and judgments that I commanded him at Horeb (Sinai) for ALL Israel.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of The Eternal comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of UTTER DESTRUCTION ” Malachi 4:1–5
The above text tells us exactly what any person should not fail to consider in an effort to restore Covenant in this nation. It’s the Covenant Law of Moses, the very testimony of Christ. It is the 36 chapters of “The Book of The Covenant”.
David, I’ve followed you for many years now. In your most recent speech at The 1607 Landing event in Virginia Beach Virginia, you stated, and I am paraphrasing,
“The process of Covenant restoration might cause you to be quite uncomfortable. You may be asked to do things you would now view as being painful.”
I know enough about your theology to know, you view the Covenant of Christ as being separate from the Covenant made at Sinai. The point was made at the 1607 Landing event, the word “new”, as in ‘The New Covenant” should be best translated as “renewed”, as in The RENEWED Covenant of Christ”. As in, the Covenant Christ made with His Disciples on the night He was betrayed was a restoration or a renewal of the Mount Sinai Covenant only void of the ceremonial, sacrificial law of The Levitical Priesthood.
Solomon stated there is nothing new under the sun. He wasn’t just waxing poetic. Please consider the commentary within the following well-known text, with the understanding that The Levitical Priesthood Law was also codified at Sinai. Two sets of laws woven into Israel’s history from Sinai until the sacrifice of Christ.
“Behold, the days are coming, declares The Eternal, when I will make a (RE)new(ED) covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (South and North, the divided House of America), not like the covenant (combined with The Levitical Priesthood Law) that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, (concerning) my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares The Eternal. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares The Eternal: I will put my (Covenant) law (of Liberty) within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their Mighty One, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know The Eternal,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares The Eternal. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Jeremiah 31:31–34
In short, David, I would very much like to be a part of any movement to restore the Covenant in our nation today. My wife and I have made this subject our lifelong ministry. We are experts in this area from a historical and scriptural perspective.
Scripture is clear, Covenant Law will be restored in the Land of YHWH, The Eternal, Almighty Creator, either willfully by our people or at the point of the sword of judgment directly from The Most High, Himself. See Isaiah 10:5.
