Message To Glenn Beck Concerning “Restoring Covenant”, Part Three

If you haven’t read parts one and two, please do so now. In part two I made mention of the first two or three entries made into The Book of The Covenant” in scripture. Those two entries are Exodus 20 through 23 and Deuteronomy 4 through 31.

The third entry into this book was not made by Moses, but rather by Joshua, at the end of his days, just before he died.

In Joshua 23 and 24, we find His entry, admonishing Israel to be of a good courage and serve YHWH. Remember these words:

“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve THE ETERNAL, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE ETERNAL.” Joshua 24:15

In these two short chapters, Joshua challenged the men of Israel to look to Covenant Law as their guide and to always stand against idolatry, for Joshua knew, it was idolatry that had been and would be Israel’s down fall. It was their weakness. Idolatry takes on many forms, the greatest of which is corruption of government. Joshua knew this. As did Moses. As did YHWH.

There are two points I would like to make here, specifically for Glenn Beck to consider.

  1. These two chapters are indeed entered into The Book of The Covenant, called by Joshua The Book of The Law. These two titles for this book are one and the same. To make my point here, I want to enter into evidence four passages to consider….Again Glenn Beck, pay close attention to the point being made here.

“Be very firm, then, to keep and do all that is written in THE BOOK OF THE LAW of Moses, so that you may not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left.” Joshua 23:6

And

“And Joshua wrote these words in THE BOOK OF THE LAW of God; and he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of THE ETERNAL.” Joshua 24:26

And

“Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, ‘I have found THE BOOK OF THE LAW in the house of THE ETERNAL.’ And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan who read it. Shaphan the scribe came to the king and brought back word to the king and said, ‘Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of THE ETERNAL.’ Moreover, Shaphan the scribe told the king saying, ‘Hilkiah the priest has given me A BOOK.’ And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king. When the king heard the words of THE BOOK OF THE LAW, he tore his clothes. Then the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Achbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant saying, Go, inquire of THE ETERNAL for me and the people and all Judah concerning the words of THIS BOOK that has been found, for great is the wrath of THE ETERNAL that burns against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of THIS BOOK, to do according to all that is written CONCERNING US.” 2Kings 22:8–13

And

“The king went up to the house of THE ETERNAL and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of THE BOOK OF THE COVENANT which was found in the house of THE ETERNAL. The king stood by the pillar and MADE A COVENANT TO THE ETERNAL to walk after THE ETERNAL, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to carry out THE WORDS OF THIS COVENANT that were written in THIS BOOK. AND ALL THE PEOPLE ENTERED INTO COVENANT. 2Kings 23:2–3

So, two things concerning this first point I would like to make. One Joshua calls this book, “The Book of The Law”. In Exodus 24, Moses calls this book “The Book of The Covenant”. Later in Deuteronomy 31, Moses calls this book “The Book of The Law.” But here, The author of 2Kings calls this book both. In chapter 22, he calls it the “Book of The Law” and in chapter 23, he calls it “The Book of The Covenant”.

It is the same book.

But notice this Glenn Beck……. King Josiah, who without a doubt was Judah’s greatest King, post King David, after reading The Book of The Covenant, tore his clothes, for he himself had his own V8 moment when he realized there was judgment coming upon his nation and his people because his forefathers had forsaken the words and principles of The Book of The Covenant.

Glenn Beck, I ask you…… When will your V8 moment occur? When will you see that nothing can prosper in this nation because we are being judged by YHWH, The Eternal Creator. At fault, the pulpits of America and all of western Christendom who have abolished the detail of this all important Covenant Law literally removing the key of knowledge.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the (Covenant) law of The Almighty, I also will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6

2. Put on your spiritual ears and eyes for this point, for you’ll need them to catch the significance of this second point I would like to make from the last two chapters of Joshua concerning “The Book of The Covenant”.

The men of which Joshua gathered to himself right before he died, for the express purpose of continuing a covenant with, these men were righteous before Joshua. The men who lived into the next generation, those men were righteous, upholding the covenant through that “post Joshua” generation until those men died off.

Yet, Joshua found the need to insult these men by stating the following:

Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve YHWH, THE ETERNAL, for He is a holy Mighty One. He is a jealous Mighty One; He WILL NOT forgive your transgression or your sins. If you forsake YHWH, THE ETERNAL and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you after He has done good to you.”

Note this….. Joshua flat out told the men of Israel, “you will not be able to serve YHWH, THE ETERNAL”. He then tied that statement to idolatry, yet the men standing there that day, were righteous before YHWH. They had served THE ETERNAL, and they continued to do so, all the days of their lives and beyond for another generation. And in fact, they argued with Joshua more than once stating:

“The people said to Joshua, ‘No, but we will serve YHWH, THE ETERNAL.’ Joshua said to the people, ‘You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves YHWH, THE ETERNAL, to serve Him.’ And they said, ‘We are witnesses.’ “Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to YHWH, THE ETERNAL, the Mighty One of Israel.’ The people said to Joshua, ‘We will serve YHWH, THE ETERNAL our God and we will obey His voice.’ So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.” Joshua 24:21–25

If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, then you would know this third entry into the Book of The Covenant is an end time prophecy concerning our people, the regather House of Israel in the last days (the last 400 years) that Joshua is writing about. Remember the words of Moses back in Deuteronomy 31:29,

“…… and evil will befall you in the latter days,……”

Glenn Beck….. Is Joshua not speaking to our people and nation today. The true promised land of Israel, America, as he challenges us to return to His Covenant Law?

I think so……..What do you think?
